It’s been a while since I’ve consistently published new content here so I’d like to give a little update of where things are at.
First off, for the last month or so I’ve been working on updating the layout of this site and incorporating a more visually appealing and intuitive gallery. The site overhaul update will be completed as soon as possible.
A lot has happened since the last time I’ve consistently written of my experiences, travels and hikes. As such, I have a lot of content in my drafts that are just itching to be published.
I still have so much left to write about my experiences during last August’s Banff/Jasper 150 trek, as well as the many mini trips I’ve gone on since then. I’m also aiming for my future posts to be more informative. This will entail listing such things as purchasing cost effective airfare, accommodation, places to see, hikes to do, trail maps, gear I use and any other content that I think may be of use to anyone. (I’m also always open to suggestions!)
In terms of recent developments for myself, I recently purchased one of the top cameras on the market, the Sony A7Rii, with the plans of purchasing some dedicated landscape and wide angle lenses (for astrophotography). With that said, the aim is to showcase much more of my photography here than the single (or few shots) you’d regularly see on Instagram.
For anyone reading, or for anyone who’s taken the time to view this page and read it in the past, I sincerely thank you. I started blogging and writing in general because it’s something I love and am passionate about. I love telling stories and sharing experiences and really hope to inspire others to see as much of our beautiful world as they can.
As for future projects and works, I have a ton of ideas in the works. One of my biggest goals for this year is to improve not only my photography skills but my videography skills as well. I’m sure many of you can relate, but the feeling of creating something that you can call your own is unlike any other. I love coming back from trips or adventures, compiling everything I’ve captured, and producing a work that perfectly depicts and captures the experiences and emotions that I felt in the moment.
Lastly, I’ve been feeling very inspired and creative as of late, which is an amazing feeling. Between, wanting to get out and shoot more, and create videos that tell stories, it’s also always been a goal of mine to actually do something with the songs I write (of which there are a decent amount). So once I’m (finally) done school, I’d love to release an EP. Not for monetary purposes, or anything of the sort, but just for my own sake, because creating art or whatever it is that you love, is a wonderful thing, and it’d be a damn shame for anyone to let such talents or creativity go to waste.
I’ll leave you with this – great content from someone that really inspires me – Kyle Finn Dempsey
Thanks as always
